Programs

Programs
Mini Masterminds Glenwood sees innovation as a driver for development in our Minis. The extra-curricular activities encourage diversity and inclusion, ensuring every Mini feels accepted and develops the ability to think, imagine and play freely.
Sports program: For our Minis aged 2 and up, the centre offers the ‘Mini Champions’ sports program. This encourages our Minis to gain fitness regardless of their athletic ability, and helps build self-esteem and confidence.
Language program: Our Minis are taught languages by qualified and experienced language teachers, further developing, and strengthening their cognitive function and problem-solving skills.
Yoga program: Each week our Minis aged 2 and up will take part in 'Mini Yoga Club' at the centre. This practice is associated with learning, memory and regulating emotions.
Cooking program: Our Minis can take part in the ‘Mini Chefs’ cooking class, a fun hands-on class that encourages our Minis to experiment in the kitchen while learning about basic cooking techniques and making smart food choices. These classes will teach kitchen safety, food preparation and proper food handling practices. Mini Masterminds knows that our Minis benefit by learning teamwork and early maths and science concepts when participating in cooking activities.
Regular excursions: Our Minis can extend their learning outside of the centre by taking part in excursions. Some examples include the Easter Show and visiting local parks for a picnic day.
In-House Incursions: Special visitors to the centre can share a wealth of knowledge with our Minis, as they can learn, discover and explore new and exciting things. Some incursions include native wildlife and reptile visits, petting zoos, dentist and optometrist visits and cultural exploration with visits from Indigenous artists.
About the curriculum

About the curriculum
In addition to the National Curriculum, Mini Masterminds Glenwood is proud to have developed a bespoke Curriculum in consultation with well-regarded Early Childhood Teacher, Jacob Camilleri. The unique Prep School Program which was developed in consultation with him exposes our Minis to the NSW Foundation Font and focuses not just on the Early Years Framework, but also the Early Stage 1 Curriculum. By merging the Prep School and Kindergarten lessons, our Minis will have a head start when it comes to their formal schooling.
The focus of the curriculum is on play-based learning, which ensures each Mini develops, understands, and takes responsibility at their own pace, capability and individuality. The individualised educational curriculum is based on our Mini's current learning and interests and is designed to further each Mini's growth and development.
The centre’s programs allow for our Minis to move freely around the activities, making their own unique choices, while ensuring that all key learning areas are promoted and explored. The overall aim of the curriculum is to develop our Mini's independence, while fostering confidence in communication and learning.
Parent communication and involvement
Parent communication and involvement
As a family-owned and operated centre, Mini Masterminds builds strong connections with centre families and the wider community.
By taking a collaborative approach with parents and the community, the centre encourages diversity and inclusion. This ensures that every Mini feels accepted and part of the Mini Masterminds ‘family’.
Parent feedback helps inform programs, which aim to build confident, independent and active learners. The centre invites families to drop in and speak to our Educators. Families also participate in special events and cultural celebrations throughout the year.
Health & nutrition

Health & nutrition
Our Educators at Mini Masterminds Glenwood aim to help guide our Minis towards healthy eating habits that will help them maintain a healthy weight and good health in the long term.
Our menus are designed by nutritionist and mother, Gabriella Ratner, to include nutrient-dense meals created with the freshest ingredients, specifically selected for growing bodies. These menus allow for the inclusion of different cultural backgrounds and special dietary requirements of our Minis at the centre.
The in-house chef prepares the meals throughout the day, with a four-week rotating menu. Our Minis are given hands-on experience with growing their own vegetables in the centre’s sustainability garden, to teach them about where their food comes from and to encourage them to try new things. Our centre also offers a private feeding room for breastfeeding mothers as needed.

Worst experience ever they never check up on you if child had attended or not. Our daughter got sick as staff didn't follow her dietary requirements and also the higher management is so rude and not easy to deal with. Only good thing about this centre is facility apart from that nothing else… it’s an honest review…….. Read more

We have been with Mini Masterminds since it opened in late 2022, and both of my children have attended the centre. Initially, I gave the centre the benefit of the doubt as it was new and going through teething issues such as high staff turnover, non-compliance with policies, and insufficient resources for the children. However, some concerns became increasingly difficult to overlook, such as being asked to backdate a document for the minibus service a year after it began, due to an external audit. We chose Mini Masterminds because it was close to home and initially offered extras like swimming lessons during daycare hours, free ABC Kids for a year, and language and yoga sessions. Unfortunately, they have since removed the swimming lessons, and the yoga sessions now appear to be from YouTube. Only Mandarin lessons are available, and parents were not given a choice in this matter. One major issue was the frequent use of a smart board with YouTube ads, particularly in winter mornings and afternoons. Screen time was not advertised as part of their curriculum, yet it became a regular feature. Staff turnover has been a significant problem, with many skilled educators leaving. Currently, there seem to be only four permanent staff members, with the rest being casuals. The high turnover has impacted the quality of care, with educators struggling to manage combined age groups (3–5 years) in an overcrowded and overwhelming environment. On multiple occasions, I witnessed educators yelling at children and ignoring distressed kids. My 3-year-old, who was toilet training, frequently soiled herself at the centre. Educators discarded her perfectly good clothes without my consent. Interestingly, since leaving the daycare, there have been no such incidents. Another concern was the lack of creativity and resources. The children often came home with minimal artwork, such as half a torn A4 sheet with a pencil drawing. While I appreciate the focus on numbers and the alphabet, creativity and hands-on learning were severely lacking. There were no excursions or engagement with the local community, which was disappointing. Upon leaving, I requested a portfolio of my children’s work but received no response. The casual staff informed me there was nothing to hand over, confirming my concerns about the lack of resources and activities. Lastly, the reviews on Google don’t align with my experience. Several parents I’ve spoken to share similar concerns, and it’s worth noting that some positive reviews appear to be incentivised with prize draws. Overall, my experience with Mini Masterminds has been deeply disappointing. Despite management’s efforts, the issues are too significant to overlook, and I would not recommend this service to others. My son has been attending for over a year and a half and he is always so happy! The educators are all so lovely and go above and beyond to ensure all children receive the best care and that all families are satisfied. They provide great attention to detail and are very consistent with their documentation and clear communication of how your child went throughout the day I’ve never regretted my decision to enrol my son here, he’s thriving so much and the educators have spent a lot of time with him to support him to reach his learning goals! Mini Masterminds Glenwood has become like our second family ,I love that I can have a genuine conversation with the educators and I feel so much love and support from them if ever I’m having a rough day. There is no judgement and I can talk to them about anything! Miss Kirsty is a fantastic Centre Manager, I highly recommend this beautiful centre, please enrol your children here ☺️❤️ Read more
