The Educators at Imagine Childcare and Kindergarten Cranbourne believe in nurturing children’s learning and development by focusing on their social, emotional, and cognitive abilities, whilst also supporting their unique interests and personal styles of learning. 

The centre’s practice is based on a number of theorists and their beliefs, which helps to guide the pedagogical strategies. The main theorist is John Dewey, who believes that education and learning is a social and interactive process. 

The Educators practice this view through play-based learning experiences, inquiry-based learning, and discovery learning. Through this teaching strategy, they encourage children to participate in collaborative activities that develop social, problem solving, and critical thinking skills. 

The children at this centre thrive in the environment that allows them to interact with the curriculum and have the opportunity to take part in their own learning to realise their full potential. Drawing Howard Gardener’s Theory of Multiple Intelligences, Educators aim to tailor experiences to children’s strengths, allowing each child to learn in the way that they find most effective.

At Imagine Childcare and Kindergarten Cranbourne, the focus of the Educators is to provide a secure and nurturing environment for the children, to promote a sense of belonging. 

The centre offers consistency of care, through long-term Educators who have been with the centre since it opened, allowing strong bonds to develop with the children and families. 

Parents are offered a complementary barista coffee at drop off time, which is a chance for them to chat to Educators about the children’s plans for the day and to ask any questions they may have. 

Educators strive to build relationships with families based on cooperation and a mutual respect for the reciprocal roles that each play in the lives of the child. The centre’s open-door policy aims to facilitate an open and free flow of communication between staff and families, whilst maintaining confidentiality and respect for the privacy and wishes of each family. This results in the highest levels of customer service and care.

The team at Imagine Childcare are amazing. The family culture we have created, means it is a place where everyone wants to be - from the minute you walk in the door and smell the amazing coffee made by our Chef, to the interactions you have with each and every one of our Educators and staff here.

I have just over 10 years' experience working in the Early Childhood industry, and I am grateful to have been managing for nearly 6 years. My overall goal as a Centre Manager, is to be supportive and welcoming to both my team and our families, as I know first-hand having two babies of my own, that you are entrusting your most precious gift.

Having the opportunity to be part of a team that is aiming for ‘Exceeding’ and ‘Putting our best foot forward’, is a breath of fresh air. I feel that from our initial staff meeting, I was able to see the path that we are working towards. My other peers are all encouraging and share the same passion.
