Eden Academy Doreen

Operated by the not-for-profit organisation, Melbourne City Mission, MCM Early Years Hub Doreen is a long-day-care Centre designed to connect children and families to early learning, activities, and specialised supports. Educators have a genuine commitment toward the children in their care, evident with the relationships they establish with both the children and their families.

The Centre offers 3- and 4-year-old funded kindergarten run by a qualified Early Childhood Teacher.
Children aged 6 weeks to 3 years are delivered play-based educational programs relating to their current interests and developmental needs, in line with the Early Years Learning Framework and National Quality Standards. A Calendar of Events is celebrated throughout the year, focusing heavily on Inclusion and Diversity, further enriching the educational program for the children and their families.

With three separate yards (divided into baby, toddler and kindergarten), children have dedicated outdoor learning spaces to allow for their individual developmental needs. The indoor and outdoor spaces are designed to allow for safe exploration of their environments, while offering opportunities for social, cognitive, and physically appropriate play. The Service features age-appropriate resources, sandpits, soft fall areas, quiet and restful spaces, and shaded areas.

Additionally, the Melbourne City Mission Early Childhood Intervention Team offer playgroup, mother’s group and therapy sessions onsite. For more information, contact MCM Doreen for referrals to their Occupational and Speech Therapists, and the many other services they offer.
