Katrina's Family Day Care

I believe all children are capable with unique and individual needs, interests and strengths.  Children develop at their own pace and I will ensure my expectations for each child’s development will be specific to each child and that their unique experiences and individual backgrounds are valued.  I believe once children feel secure they will thrive in all areas of development.  By addressing a child’s attachment, emotional and behavioral needs they will be able to develop and maintain positive and trusting relationships with their families, myself and other educators, peers and the wider community. My program empowers children to make choices through the use of learning pods and simultaneous indoor and outdoor play.  I recognize the importance of providing a safe, secure and consistent environment that supports trust and familiarity as well as the active exploration of learning.  I believe this is done by establishing a calm, friendly and positive atmosphere where children take ownership and are active participants in respecting themselves, each other and the Family Day Care Enviroment
