Whilst the educators are lovely and my child enjoys her time at this centre, when compared to other private city centres, this centre could benefit from better digital comms for daily updates on child's activities. The centre uses scrap books and newsletters via email as a way of comms with parents. Sometimes communication about bookweek etc are missed as posters outside class rooms are used to communicate with parents and if you are not paying attention on pick up or drop off it will be missed. Other centres offer apps with photos of child during the day, menu for the week, updates on activities so parents are regularly informed. This centre relies on parents speaking to educators about their child's day which is hard at busy drop off and pick up times. The other big downside is inflexibility of this centre with no ability to access a buy/sell program so when you are on holidays you have to pay for services you are not using and there is no holiday discount whatsoever. This is very inconvenient for full time children with parents paying full fees. This has been raised to Gowrie head office management multiple times but given this centre is oversubscribed due to shortage of centres in yarraville, I doubt anything will change. When seeking a discount for children who are recovering from surgery, got no reply for months and then received the most non empathetic response from center manager and head office saying no. They sell those days to other parents making twice the money. I also think for children under 2 years old, the playgrounds are not very safe having seen a few children hit their head on the concrete. Centre and head office management at Gowrie are not helpful and the centre is not very friendly to parents seeking help. There are way better child care centers in city and in the west Read more
