Our primary aim is to ensure that our service promotes the highest quality care for our children and families. As well as ensuring that our children are not only learning and cared for but are also safe and respected during every moment of their time.
We believe children thrive in an environment where they have a sense of being, becoming and belonging (DEEWR, 2009). Therefore, it is important that our centre creates a warm, welcoming, inclusive, home-like environment that endorses respectful, secure and reciprocal relationships, supporting and encouraging children towards what they are interested and curious in.
We believe that each child is a unique individual, with individual beliefs, interests, strengths, needs and ideas that need to be respected and encouraged in order to foster a holistic environment. We believe children are capable and should be given opportunities to exercise choice and independence.
We believe children should be given guidance towards pro-social behaviours through our environment, role modelling, choices and co-construction of decisions which concern them. We believe a connection to country is imperative to embedding the love of the natural world in which the Indigenous share.
To ensure that children are placed at the forefront of every decision we make. Opportunities for children, families and educators to share ideas, culture, skills and collaborate on a daily basis. This will further guide our program and practices in implementing a child centred environment in capturing the individuality of each child. An environment that promotes discovery, exploration and challenge. As well as a curriculum that encourages holistic development and high expectations for children across all developmental areas through both spontaneous and intentional teaching.
