Green Leaves Early Learning Cairnlea Centre overview
Green Leaves Early Learning Cairnlea is located in the heart of the Cairnlea community with ample parking and walking distance from local schools, community hubs, and shopping centres.
This two-story early learning haven for children from 6 weeks to 6 years, sets a new high-quality benchmark for education and care in the region.
The centre's family lounge is a favourite with their families, where they can connect, or meet with Educators over fresh barista-made coffee and a baked treat.
On the ground level, you’ll find the Chef’s kitchen, and four learning hubs thoughtfully resourced for each age group, while three additional learning hubs are located on the second floor. The learning environments upstairs open out to a sensory garden and views of Shearwater Meadow Reserve where children delight in bringing their wildlife sightings into their everyday learning.
The learning environments are cleverly designed ensuring the resources are eco-friendly, sustainable, and meet the needs of curious, active minds.
Green Leaves Cairnlea offers a fully approved and funded, 3 and 4-year-old Kinder program, based on the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework (VEYLDF). Our Kinder program is led by a Bachelor-qualified Early Childhood Teacher.
Pop in for a coffee and tour to discover the Green Leaves difference for yourself.

About the curriculum
About the curriculum
6 weeks - 12 months
Our Educators partner with families to ensure each baby’s routine is personalised to meet their individual needs. The nursery children take part in activities within a stimulating learning environment and enjoy group time during their music and movement program, or visits from special guests. Throughout the day, they enjoy taking part in songs and storytelling, sensory activities, and messy play in our light-filled learning hubs. Under the guidance of their Educators, the nursery children enjoy nutritious Chef-prepared meals. During rest time, the nursery children have a nap under a twinkling night sky, accompanied by tranquil music which creates the perfect ambience for quality rest.
2 years - 3 years
Foundational life skills are pivotal in our Kinder curriculum and underpin the Positive School Transition programs we offer our children. Our Kinder learning journey celebrates the children’s individuality and encourages their love of learning through inspiring and quality play-based opportunities to help them develop memory skills, language and self-regulation, supporting the transition to school and academic learning later on in life. The children also enjoy yoga, visits from special guests, and regular excursions to local parklands. Mealtimes are an opportunity for the children to enjoy social interactions with their friends and Educators, as well as learn about body awareness and nutrition. Practicing independence, the children help to set up, serve, and clear away their dining area. Throughout the day, the Kinder children engage in activities that include literacy and numeracy games, outdoor fun, and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math). The active Kinder children particularly enjoy the outdoor adventures around the bike track, building volcanoes in the sandpit or expanding their green thumb knowledge, through cultivating the edible gardens that provide countless hours of eco-education and fun.
3 years - 4 years
Our Pre-Kinder program is designed to provide curious three-year-olds with a well-rounded play-based learning experience. Supported by qualified and experienced Educators, the children learn key skills such as creative thinking and problem-solving, develop social and emotional skills, as well as early literacy and language skills - which lays the groundwork for success later in life. Throughout the day, the children engage in activities that include literacy and numeracy games, and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) activities to encourage children to think creatively and critically. During mealtimes, the children enjoy nutritious Chef-prepared meals to fuel their active, growing bodies.

Green Leaves Cairnlea have been a part of our family for a wonderful 3 years. I first started sending my first child through covid and we have since had my 2nd child attend for well over a year now. This is no doubt the best child care centre as the educators are so attentive, caring and the children have had the best experiences developed within this centre. We are so lucky to have an amazing chef who cooks the most diversed and nutritious meals for the children to explore and enjoy ! Let's also not forget about the hot chocolates, coffees and treats that we are treated to every single day ! If you are looking for a childcare centre, look no further ! Read more

We previously had our 3 yr old son was enrolled here but have since moved him to a center closer to my workplace, as I felt he wasn't receiving the level of attention we hoped for. The educator-to-child ratio seemed less than ideal, and we noticed frequent changes in staff, which made it difficult to maintain consistency. Additionally, I have a strong concerns about the amount of screen time. During pickups, I often observe the children watching YouTube on a large projector or TV, and I'm unsure of the duration. Pickups have also become more challenging as my son seems quite stimulated and reluctant to leave. Read more
