Join the family at Meerilinga Cockburn and enjoy an affordable alternative to childcare in our quality Early Learning Program. Enrol your 2.5 - 4yr old in a quality early education program that builds its lessons on learning through play. We now have six hour session options to fit in with your school drop off and pick up. Supported by the City of Cockburn, our Coolbellup service is a much loved community hub. We house a variety of services from Toy and Street Libraries to adult education programs. We provide whatever the community decides it needs. Our pre-kindy Early Learning Program is built around learning through play. Structuring quality nature-based play experiences in the natural and built environment. Since joining the community a few years ago, we renovated the property and its extensive gardens to create a nature-play wonderland. Our children look after chickens and a seasonal veggie patch, exploring swinging bridges and a sandpit surrounded by trees.
Meerilinga Cockburn aims to promote positive childhoods in the Coolbellup. In addition to early education, we support local families and their child’s transition into kindergarten - and life. To do this, Meerilinga follows ACECQA's vision of Belonging, Being & Becoming. Rated Exceeding under the National Quality Standard, we use the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) to create our educational program. The entire team at Meerilinga Cockburn are passionate about letting your child enjoy childhood. Structuring activities to allow meaningful discoveries by learning through play.

In January 2012 the National Quality Framework (NQF) came into effect across Australia.
The purpose of the NQF is to improve and standardise the quality of child care through a
range of measures including better staff to child ratios, higher staff qualifications
and an assessment and rating system designed to promote continuous improvement.
Under the NQF child care services are assessed and rated against the National Quality Standards (NQS).
The NQS measures the quality of early childhood education and care in Australia. It will cover
most long day care, family day care, preschool/kindergarten and outside school hours care services.
Under these standards child care services will be assessed and rated against the
seven quality areas, 18 standards and 58 elements that make up the NQS.
