The staff live to work and it shows through their commitment to the children. All meals and nappies are provided but the family connections and love is free. You won't want to leave once your children become a part of this community centre. Cultural, religious and social inclusion is of the utmost importance at VRCC. Even myself and my school aged child has learnt a lot through the input of this centre and the parents of other children. You will see why so many family members work here or become family. Some of the staff have also been children of this centre, which is a reflection of how much this place holds significance for our community. For 4 years I've been a parent of children at this centre, (from Aug 2019 to now, Feb 2023) I'm now a member of the board, and I enjoy participating as a voice for the community, the parents, the staff and the children here. Whist that may seem biased, I can say it is the sole reason I volunteered to be on the board. My child will graduate this year, Dec 2023 🥺 But I don't plan on leaving. I hope to see Vickers Road Community Centre continue it's incredible contribution to our community, and more importantly, the children we are raising.
