SDN Chippendale welcomes children from age 6 weeks to 6 years in a home-like environment, dedicated to supporting children to thrive.
The centre is part of SDN Children's Services, which is a not for profit organisation.
The educators work with each individual child and their family to ensure their needs are met and their strengths can flourish.
The outdoor environment at the centre is like an oasis away from the hustle and bustle of the inner city. The children can play in the sandpit, use the climbing equipment or wander through the gardens. In addition to the shade from the trees, there is also a covered area to allow for all-weather outdoor play.
The spacious indoor rooms ignite children's imaginations with a wide range of activities for them to enjoy. The child-led program and curriculum allow for the children to explore their own unique interests alongside exciting and engaging group learning experiences.
Located in a quiet, shady street nearby to Peace Park, the centre is just a short walk from Cleveland Street bus stops.
At SDN, your child is supported by our village.
The SDN village is a caring, inclusive, and supportive community, where your child is the centre of everything we do. We give them the freedom to invent, create, explore, and express their true selves, every day. A place where they can use their voices. And when they do, we listen.
We see the whole child and know that children thrive when we support them to grow caring hearts, healthy bodies, and curious minds.
SDN is committed to being a child safe organisation.

The staff at this centre are both knowledgeable and caring, providing a loving, supporting and educational environment. The centre is small, but well equipped, with up-to-date features inside and a lovely backyard enabling many activities. The centre is very well organised, and is also surprisingly cheap for such a wonderful centre in a high-demand location. Read more

In January 2012 the National Quality Framework (NQF) came into effect across Australia.
The purpose of the NQF is to improve and standardise the quality of child care through a
range of measures including better staff to child ratios, higher staff qualifications
and an assessment and rating system designed to promote continuous improvement.
Under the NQF child care services are assessed and rated against the National Quality Standards (NQS).
The NQS measures the quality of early childhood education and care in Australia. It will cover
most long day care, family day care, preschool/kindergarten and outside school hours care services.
Under these standards child care services will be assessed and rated against the
seven quality areas, 18 standards and 58 elements that make up the NQS.
