Utterly disappointed, We started taking our daughter to Next Generation Childcare in July 2024. She was only 6 months old then and the service was great for the first few months. After a few members of staff left the quality of the service provided declined very quickly. Daily photos were no longer posted, routines were only logged late in the day and sometimes left incomplete instead of being updated regularly as was promised when we first visited the centre. Becoming continuously short staffed, we noticed children’s age groups were constantly mixed and the ratio of educators to children were evidently not being kept. Numerous times I counted 15 kids or more, including babies, for two educators only, at drop off time. Changes in staff happened so often that new staff members weren’t even introduced to parents for some time. Occasionally, we wouldn’t even know who were the people looking after our kids. One day our daughter was sent back home with a severe rash which apparently, no one noticed. When we questioned the director about how this happened she refused to take responsibility for it and tried to throw it back at us. She also refused to provide the contact details of the people above her for us to make a formal complaint to her superiors about our concerns. We decided then to move on to a different childcare and the director at Next Generation failed us once again by not giving us clear information about the process to end our daughters enrolment and about what happened with the childcare subsidy during the notice period, being that we no longer wanted our daughter to attend to Next Generation. Luckily we received advice from the directors of the other childcare centres that we were visiting, which were much more helpful and seemed much more knowledgeable about this process. Read more

My Daughter attended the NextGen for one year before she joined Waitara Public School. It's an excellent place as there are ample places for kids to play. However, I have come across multiple issues as follows. 1. I saw a change of three centre directors in one year. 2. Even though my payment was auto-mode in a bi-weekly basis, I got one notice to pay a huge amount after my daughter's last week of class, however, most shocking was to get another notice after a year to pay some additional fees and that was awkward, Overall, the value of NextGen needs to uplift as there are many good options available in Waitara now.
