PLC Melbourne is a Presbyterian school for girls (Early Learning Centre is co-educational) from 6 months to Year 12. The spacious, purpose-built Early Learning Centre currently enrols 200 students across 7 classes; three 4-year-old Pre-Prep programs, two 3-year-old Kindergarten programs, a Toddler group, and an Infant group. Children can attend on a full-time or part-time basis.
The Centre operates between the hours of 7-45 am. and 6-00 pm. and is open for 48 weeks of the year with closure for four weeks over the Christmas vacation. Children enrolled in the Kindergarten and Pre-Prep programs have the option to attend for 48 weeks per year (full-time or part-time) between 7.45 am. and 6.00 pm. or for the duration of the PLC school terms between the hours of 8.30 am and 3.30 pm.
The Early Learning Centre programs are influenced by the Reggio Emilia approach to early childhood education and aim to match and challenge each child’s developing abilities and interests.
An extra component of our Pre-Prep and Kindergarten programs is the children’s involvement in classes such as Physical Education, Library, Music and Christian Education. These classes are taught by specialist teachers, either in the Junior School or in the Early Learning Centre. Swimming classes are undertaken on campus at the PLC Aquatic Centre for the 4 year old Pre-Prep children.
The Child Care Subsidy is available to eligible families.
